Question 1

Can I skip chilling the dough?

Accepted Answer

You can bake immediately, but the cookies will spread more and have less depth of flavor. The recipe’s texture and shape are optimized by chilling for 12–24 hours.

Question 2

How do I get round, uniform cookies?

Accepted Answer

Use a ¼ cup cookie scoop for consistent portions, chill scooped dough if needed, then gently reshape while warm (or use the reshaping method referenced in the recipe notes) to make perfectly round cookies.

Question 3

Can I substitute quick oats or different nuts?

Accepted Answer

Quick oats will give a softer, less chewy texture; old-fashioned rolled oats are recommended. Swap pecans for walnuts or almonds without changing the method; toasting nuts first deepens their flavor.
