Question 1

Can I use raw chicken in the filling?

Accepted Answer

This recipe assumes cooked shredded chicken; if you use raw chicken, cook it first (bake, poach or pan-sear) and shred before adding to the filling so the pies don’t overcook while sealing and air-frying.

Question 2

Can I assemble pies ahead and freeze them raw?

Accepted Answer

Yes — wrap each assembled pie individually and freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat from frozen in the air fryer at 180°C for about 8 minutes, or until heated through and golden.

Question 3

What tortillas work best?

Accepted Answer

Fresh, pliable 20cm flour tortillas (white or wholewheat) fold and seal best; older or very dry tortillas may crack — warm them briefly to soften if needed.
