Can I make the peanut butter ball ahead of time?

Yes—prepare and freeze the coated ball. It will keep well frozen; if frozen longer than an hour, thaw about 30 minutes before serving so it’s scoopable.

Can I use natural peanut butter instead of regular creamy?

No—use regular creamy peanut butter as natural peanut butter separates and can make the filling oily and loose.

Can I change the coating to something homemade?

Yes—crushed pretzels, crushed cookies, or your preferred chopped candy can replace the chip mix. Expect different texture: crushed coatings yield a finer crunch while whole chips add chunkier bites.
