Equipment

  • 9-inch round cake pan
  • Large bowl
  • measuring cup
  • microwave-safe bowl or measuring cup
  • nonstick cooking spray

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 217-279 g
  • 1 package Fleischmann's® RapidRise Yeast 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 2/3 cup water 158 ml; very warm (120° to 130°F)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil 45 ml
  • 1/2 to 1 cup pizza sauce
  • Other toppings as desired
  • 1 to 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, undissolved Fleischmann's® RapidRise Yeast, sugar, and salt.
  3. Place the very warm water in a microwave-safe measuring cup or bowl and heat until it reaches 120 to 130°F; add the olive oil to the warmed water.
  4. Add the water and oil mixture to the flour mixture and mix until well blended, about 1 minute. Gradually add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough that forms a ball and is slightly sticky.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead, adding additional flour if necessary, until smooth and elastic, about 4 minutes. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with nonstick cooking spray. Press the pizza dough into the prepared pan.
  7. Spread pizza sauce over the dough, top with desired toppings, and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake on the lowest oven rack for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is browned.

Notes

If you don’t have a 9-inch round cake pan you can also use a 9-inch square pan, 9×13-inch pan or make this a traditional pizza.
Be sure to use INSTANT yeast NOT active dry.
